With the continuing growth of Antique's population due to the province's progressive industrialization, attention to people's healthcare has found itself in increasing demand -- a demand that gave Most Rev. Jose S. Bantolo his insight for the building of the Antique Medical Center, Inc.
In the year 2007, Most Rev. Jose S. Bantolo birthed the idea of a founding a medical facility that would aim to address the health concerns of the Antiqueños, equipping itself with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, in order to provide quality and top notch services. This objective is further enforced by the Securities and Exchange Commission’s issuance of Certificate of Incorporation, and a generous assistance from the St. Joseph, the Worker Orphanage, invoking the phrase:
“All for the Glory of God, in honor of St. Joseph, the Worker.”
Thus, the construction of the Antique Medical Center, Inc. officially broke ground on the Feast day of St. Anthony of Padua on June 13, 2008, with the intent of offering its services to the less fortunate Antiqueños.
Most. Reverend Jose Romeo O. Lazo, D.D., then incumbent Bishop of the Diocese of Antique, sought the assistance of the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres through Sr. Zeta Caridad Rivero, SPC, formerly the Head of the Provincial Council, to manage and spearhead its initial operation.
On October 7, 2012, the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres officially arrived in the service of the Antique Medical Center, Inc. headed by Sr. Norma Patricia Manzano, SPC, as Hospital Administrator and Sr. Anne Therese Nobleza, SPC, the Superior and Nursing Service Directress. With them are Sr. Rutchel Magallanes, SPC, Sr. Jane Tion, SPC, and Sr. Melanie Guzman, SPC. The Sisters, with their expertise in Hospital Management, faced the challenges in making significant milestones towards Antique Medical Center’s development.
Instilling not only a facility for quality healthcare services, the Sisters have also established the hospital as a Catholic institution that will inculcate Christian values and evangelization towards the people of Antique. From its structure to its personnel, the Sisters have shared their expertise that is not only built on competence but also with compassion and care.
On February 18, 2013, the blessing of the first two floors of the hospital which also includes the Emergency Room, Outpatient Department, and other Ancillary Services, was held. Consequently, Antique Medical Center had its pre-opening on April 15, 2013, and was officially opened to serve the public with an initial of 40 bed capacity on the 18th day of April 2013.
We commit ourselves to:
We envision Antique Medical Center as a Christ-centered, Dynamic and socially responsible global Health Care Institution Committed to providing holistic quality health care services.
